Selecting the best surface for your staging deck is a key part of the design process. With a wide selection of standard and custom surface options, there’s a solution for every production or event. All surfaces are easily removable and interchangeable with the exception of grated aluminum surfaces.

Non-Skid Quad Ripple
Available in black or gray, our non-skid quad ripple surface is a popular choice for its durability, slip resistance, and low maintenance. The textured surface is ideal for outdoor use, minimizing slippage caused by rain, dew, or condensation—enhancing safety for both crew and performers.
Haircell Polyvinyl
This non-textured surface makes cleanup between events fast and easy. The smooth black surface offers a sleek, professional look suitable for both indoor & outdoor settings.
Weather-Resistant Finish
Enhance the longevity of your staging surfaces with a weather-resistant finish, available for both haircell polyvinyl and non-skid quad ripple decks. Our two-step CP0 primer/sealer aggregate is applied to the deck edges before framing, providing excellent protection against moisture and weather exposure
Carpeted Surfaces
Available in Black, Gray, or Custom Colors
Carpeted decks offer noise reduction, slip resistance, and comfort, making them ideal for indoor and formal events. This surface adds warmth and sophistication and is especially useful in environments where audio clarity matters, such as studios or theaters.
Aluminum Deck Surfaces
Grated Aluminum
Our durable, grated aluminum decks are great for showcasing special effects like fog, pyro and uplighting on ego and drum risers. Their low-maintenance, rust-resistant, naturally non-flammable design makes them perfect for outdoor and industrial environments.
Acrylic & “Plexi” Surfaces
Both Clear Acrylic and Natural Polypropylene are available in two configurations:
• A layered ¾” + ¼” sacrificial top for easy and cost-effective surface replacement to keep deck in brand new condition
• A solid 1″ thick version
Clear Acrylic
This transparent surface creates a stunning stage effect when paired with lighting, LED elements, or below-stage visuals. It’s UV-resistant, and easy to clean, making it suitable for both indoor and controlled outdoor use.
Natural Polypropylene – “Milk Plexi”
Natural Polypropylene offers a semi-transparent “milk” white finish for a unique and elegant stage appearance. Like clear acrylic, it works well with lighting effects providing a warm wash of color perfect for wedding cake displays, ice sculptures and dance floors.
Wood Surfaces
Unfinished Plywood
Our 1” 9-ply marine grade plywood surface can be stained, painted or used as a sub-surface for vinyl laminate applications. Perfect for heavy traffic venues where a coat of fresh paint makes your stage look brand-new. Customers may finish the decks themselves or have our team of experts apply custom finishing.
Tongue & Groove Hardwood
Engineered hardwood planks are glued onto our 11-ply marine-grade plywood subfloor. This provides a refined, elegant look with a wide range of wood tones and plank sizes.
Black Flame-Retardant Plywood
Staging Dimensions offers two options for fire rated decks.
Option #1 – All sides and edges of the 1” unfinished plywood surface are painted with 2 coats of a Rosco Flamex and paint mixture completely sealing the surface. Also allows customers to select custom paint colors.
Option #2 – 1” non-skid quad or smooth haircell polyvinyl surface is skinned with a 1/8 aluminum sheet.
